Miss Lisa Harlan
Miss Lisa Harlan graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in elementary education, containing minors in Language Arts, Fine Arts and Social Sciences. After graduation, she became the toddler teacher at Pathways to Learning Preschool in Redford, Michigan before finding a position at St. Bridget Catholic School in Detroit. While at St. Bridget Miss Harlan taught a 1st/2nd split class and then straight 2nd grade for 2 years. In 1993, she came to Guardian Angels where she taught Kindergarten for the first 13 years. She then was moved to the Academy, where her ELA minor came in handy. Miss Harlan taught Literature to the 7th and 8th graders and Grammar/English to the 6th graders. In 2012, there was an opening back in lower elementary, so she happily returned to the first-floor teaching Kindergarten for one year before looping up with her class to first grade. She stayed in first grade until 2022. Now, Miss Harlan is happy to be back in kindergarten! It is such a fun and exciting grade, where her love of crafts and reading are a perfect fit for the little ones. In her spare time, Miss Harlan loves to read and take webinars online.
