Ms. Alyson Carr
Ms. Alyson Carr began teaching at Guardian Angels in 2016. She grew up and went to school in the local Berkley area. After college Ms. Carr had the opportunity to live and teach in various places around the States and abroad. One of her favorite experiences was teaching Elementary Art in Okinawa Japan through DoDEA (Department of Defense Schools). During her time there she was given the unique experience of teaching both off base at a local Okinawan School and on base as well. Observing and participating first hand inĀ Okinawan culture and art practices was exciting and educational.
Ms. Carr loves experimenting with all types of art forms and creating with students of all ages. Some of her favorites include textiles and fiber arts like Batik (wax and dye), weaving and 2D drawing and painting, especially large scale or refurbishing found objects. Ms. Carr loves creating personally but finds inspiration and happiness sharing in the creative process with students where expression, imagination, ideas and colors rule! Outside of teaching Ms. Carr enjoys hanging with her two daughters and supporting whatever current endeavors they are participating in as well dabbles in playing guitar and piano.
