All students (Preschool through 8th grade) participate in a Robotics elective once a week. Instead of memorizing abstract principles and formulas related to the areas of Design & Engineering, Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science, your child will use LEGO bricks to construct knowledge in those subject areas as well as build, share, and code, all skills for the 21st century. For more than 30 years, LEGO Education has been developing educational solutions based on a well-established educational theory that holds that children learn best and remember more through hands-on experience with physical things. With the integration of applying STEM into our curriculum, your child will not only learn core subjects more effectively, but will also improve his/her collaboration, communcation, creative, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills! The students will use a variety of new learning tools (explained below).
Botley
Botley is a colorful robot and remote control combo that teaches kids beginner code. Children can program their Botley coding robot by entering a code on the remote and then ask Botley to ‘run the code’. Kids will learn the basic concepts of coding like algorithms, loops and debugging while playing with Botley.
Code & Go Robot Mouse
The race is on to build hands-on coding skills! Build your maze, and then use the coding cards to create a step-by-step path for Colby, the Programmable Robot Mouse. Program the sequence of steps, and then watch Colby race to find the cheese!
Edison
Edison is a programmable robot designed to be a complete STEM teaching resource for coding and robotics education for students from 4 to 16 years of age.
WeDo 2.0
LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 is an intuitive hands-on solution designed to develop elementary school students’ curiosity and confidence to solve real-life problems through engaging STEAM projects. Easily adaptable to fit any learning environment, WeDo 2.0 challenges students to define problems, ask questions, and design their own solutions—setting them on a path to become lifelong learners.
Meepers
Meeper robotics hit on all four pillars of STEM and grow with your child from from grades K-12. As an education product, we provide STEM Lessons that ensures engagement and meets all of the standards.
mBots
mBot is a STEAM education robot for beginners, that makes teaching and learning robot programming simple and fun. With just a screwdriver, the step by step instructions, and a study schedule, children can build a robot from scratch and experience the joys of hands-on creation. As they go, they will learn about a variety of robotic machinery and electronic parts, get to grips with the fundamentals of block-based programming, and develop their logical thinking and design skills.
EV3
LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 Core Set is a hands-on, cross-curricular STEM solution that engages students by providing the resources to design, build and program their creations while helping them develop essential skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.
Programmable Drones
The Airblock is an easy-to-use programmable drone that’s geared to inspire young pilots to dive head first into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education. The drone itself consists of six rotor blades and one master module that links the blades via magnetic connectors in a honeycomb fashion without the use of any tools. Each module is wrapped in a special engineered Styrofoam to protect sensitive instruments from damage during a crash landing and, more importantly, to keep stray fingers from getting cut by the buzzing blades.
