My name is Valerie Hanley. I look forward to being your Kindergarten teacher this year. Teaching brings me so much happiness. My goal is to build confidence in a safe and loving school community while giving students a passion for learning and encouraging them to do their best.
I live in Clarkston with my wonderful husband Paul. I am a mother of two amazing boys. One of my boys is in ninth grade, Paul, and I have a fourth grader, Caden. Things I enjoy doing are spending time with family, camping, reading, cooking, singing, walking/biking trails, and playing soccer.
I received my teaching certificate while attending Eastern Michigan University; with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Integrated Science. I earned my masters at Oakland University in Educational Studies in the leadership program. I have taught a variety of age groups from preschool to middle school. This will be my fifth year as a teacher. I was a lead teacher at the young 5’s program for Clarkston schools. I was the math specialist for Clarkton elementary grades K-5. My most recent position was a Media Specialist at an International Baccalaureate school, where I taught grades K-8th computer design and served as the librarian.
I am excited to be working at Guardian Angels with you and all of the wonderful students.
