5th Grade through 8th Grade:

As you are aware, Guardian Angels is moving to Remote Learning starting Monday, March 23rd.  We are working to make this transition as smooth as possible for everyone. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we move forward. 

Teacher Office Hours: These are the hours we will be available and responding to emails/Edmodo comments and questions, Monday through Friday.

Schedule: 

Teachers will post new assignments/materials on scheduled days, see below.  Due dates will be posted with given assignments on Edmodo, all assignments will be due at 3:00 pm on due date, if submitted after 3:00 pm it will be considered late and students will lose points according to our Guardian Angels handbook.  (Please note that the Specials teachers may be using Google Classroom.  See their information and office hours in the next section below.)

Expectations:

  • SCIENCE packets and new books need to be picked up on Monday, March 23rd, 7:30 am-9:00 am or 3:00 pm-5:00 pm
  • Chromebooks: students signing out Chromebooks need to do so on Monday, March 23rd, 7:30 am-9:00 am or 3:00 pm-5:00 pm
  • Accelerated Reading (AR) is no longer part of Quarter 3 grading, all points will be used towards Quarter 4 goal
  • Mrs. Glinski has reached out to BFC regarding the Foley Math students and will update the Foley Math Edmodo page as information becomes available 
  • Hours collected for Quarter 3 Service Journal will be applied to Quarter 4
  • Continue practicing your Declamation, currently the School Contest is still scheduled for May 1st
  • 7th & 8th Grade Veteran Project NEW due date is April 13th (continue to work on this project)
  • Edmodo codes, parents are welcome to join, most students are already members

Specials:
As we move forward with our remote learning, the specials team would like to share our plan for the next few weeks. These assignments will count as part of their fourth quarter grade.

General Music

Kindergarten, 1st Grade, & 2nd Grade Music:
Students will receive one music assignment per week and a music class log for their parents to document that they completed the assignment.

3rd Grade & 4th Grade Music:
Students will receive one music assignment per week via google classroom or email and they will complete the assignment online. If the assignment includes a video submission via google classroom or flipgrid, please make sure you as the guardian preview and approve the video before the student submits it to Mrs. Cross.

5th Grade and Academy Music:
Students will receive one music project to be completed over the course of two weeks and they will have the choice to submit the finished project electronically or in person the day they return to school.

Art

Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade Art
Students will receive one art assignment per week via class e-mail to be completed and returned when school resumes.

3rd & 4th Grade Art
Students will receive one art assignment per week via either class e-mail or Google classroom.

5th – 8th Grade Art
Students will receive one art assignment per week via either class e-mail or Google classroom.

Computers/Library

In Computers, K-2 classes will receive via email their classwork for the week. I will also be sending login information for any apps or programs that they might need.

In Computers, 3rd-5th grade classes will receive assignments via Google Classroom each week. Students can turn in projects directly via Classroom by the due dates indicated. Academy classes can expect lessons assigned through Classroom using Google’s video-based Applied Digital Skills curriculum. These lessons are self-paced and might span multiple class times, so please make sure students pay attention to due dates for specific components.

Physical Education

Kindergarten-4th Grade
Students will receive a fitness log and will be expected to exercise at least 60 minutes per week and fill out the log accordingly.

5th-8th Grade:
Students will receive one physical education project that will be completed over the course of two weeks through Google Classroom. The assignment includes a video submission via google classroom. Please make sure you as the guardian preview and approve the video before your student submits it to Mrs. Bays.

Specials teachers will have virtual office hours from 8am to 3pm, during which we will answer questions and/or address concerns via email.
